The Clean Up group does a fantastic job in keeping our area clean. The group are always looking for new people to become involved. Please note that from November 2006 onwards the group will meet every month on the second Saturday of the month. Meet at the Ibis Hotel at 10.30 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.. Please bring gloves. High visibility jackets are provided.
A Litter Free East Cork!!!
The aim of the group is to keep the roads litter free from Dunkettle to Little Island Bridge to Dunacloyne Bridge. We are inviting people from the surrounding area to come and join us whenever they can.
Our ultimate ambition is to have all the litter and community groups of East Cork link up until the whole of the East Cork becomes litter free.
Adopt A Road!!!
Some people may be interested in Adopting a Road. By this scheme a group can take on a stretch of road and clean it in the group’s own time.
Warning!
Roads can be very dangerous. For your own safety please wear high visibility jackets. The roads care not a place for young children and we would suggest that all under 18 year olds are supervised by parents.

Glounthaune Youth Café – Facilitated by Timebank -Urgent Need for Adults to Become Involved.
Work is still progressing with trying to get the youth café going. We have received very kind donations of a couch, microwave, stereo etc. and the floor in the community centre is being replaced this weekend to facilitate activities such as the youth café. However, the process is being delayed due to difficulties in finding adults to become involved. We currently have 3 adults interested in getting involved but we need to find at least another 3 people. We will provide training and support to all adults. The youth café will be a very relaxed, chilled out place and it is hoped that it will be enjoyable for everyone involved – young people and adults. If you are aged over 18 and would like to become involved, then please contact Brenda in the Timebank – 021 4524747 or communitytimebank@gmail.com.
