Advice from Glanmire Gardai: Leaving Home for the Holidays

From now on is holiday season. If you are going on holiday, please give your house key to a trusted friend or neighbour.  Tell them the alarm code so that if your alarm goes off, it will not be ringing for the whole time you are away, to the annoyance of your neighbours.  Ensure some body takes in your post and don't let it pile up inside your porch door, this is a dead give away.  Cancel your milk and paper delivery .Have your lights on a timer system. Do not leave your curtains drawn all day.  Take all your valuables with you such as cash, jewellery etc.  Notify Glanmire Gardai of your period of absence and also key holder's contact details in case of emergency.  Above all enjoy your holidays, from community Garda Noel Fitzgerald.
