Youth Club for Brooklodge

A new Foroige club has opened in Brooklodge. The aim of Foroige clubs is to provide a setting where young people can socialise in a safe and caring environment. The aim of the organisation is to involve communities in the development of their young people.

Foroige clubs generally consist of small groups of less than 30 young people, aged 12-18 years and voluntary adult leaders, in a ratio of approximately 10:1. Through the club, young people get a chance to make new friends and develop new talents.

For some time it has been acknowledged that very little in the way of facilities exist for young people in the area and although it only commenced a short while ago, 20 members have joined so far. New members and leaders are being sought at present. All leaders are provided with training in Leadership skills and ongoing training around dealing with different issues arising in the club.
