Tidy Towns challenge

Does discarded litter, overgrown road verges and general untidiness annoy you? In our naturally beautiful environment we often complain that the County Council should do more. However, we see other communities make enormous progress in creating an attractive, clean and well presented environment. We realise that this comes about by a ‘do-it-yourself’ approach.

Now you have a direct opportunity to act and support the newly formed Glounthaune Tidy Towns Committee. We need your support to make improvements.

If you would like to accept this challenge please come out and help us during one of the regular clean ups that are planned. We kicked off the project on February 28th last at the Ashbourne Walkway. A tremendous turnout of almost 50 local people, all armed with clippers, rakes and gloves meant that great progress was make during the glorious morning. We plan to continue the programme with clean ups on every second Saturday with your support.

Glounthaune Tidy Towns Committee is a sub-committee of the Glounthaune Community Association and works closely with the Timebank.

The committee comprises: Conor O’Brien (4353190), Mary Byrne, Hester Forde, Lloyd Hutchinson, Des Daly, Andrew Thompson, Peter Dowdall, Ingrid Murphy, Joe Hughes, Ned Stack.
