Imokilly Traditional Dance Group

Jacinta O'Sullivan started the Imokilly Traditional Dance Group eighteen years ago and the group is going from strength to strength. The dance school started off in Little Island Community Hall but has expanded over the years and Jacinta is currently holding classes in Brooklodge, Glanmire, Carrigtwohill,Watergrasshill and Whitegate as well as other locations in the East Cork environs.

The school places a great emphasis on dancing for enjoyment and does not engage in competitive feis's and the like. Having said that the group regularly takes part in public performances and recently participated in the St Patrick's Day festivities in Glounthaune village. Each year there is also opportunities for older students to travel abroad to Dance Festivals across the British Isles. To date we have traveled to Jersey, Scotland and Cornwall to name but a few.

At present classes are currently taking place in Brooklodge Community Centre each Wednesday from 6.00 – 7.30pm.

Classes are also held in Little Island N.S. each Thursday from 2.30 – 3.30

Fees vary from term to term, depending on the length of term but in general work out at approx €3.50 per class.
