The Knockraha Badminton Club was founded in early 1992 by a group of 14 ladies from the locality. The Club was initially located in Knockraha Hall, but as membership grew, it relocated to Erins Own Sports Complex in Caherlag.
Since the foundation of the Club, there have been many successes in the Cork County Championships, having won many titles which include the Novice, Division 6 and Division 5 league and Cup titles and East Cork Plate. The Juvenile Club was set up in September 1994 and presently has about 40 members. Juvenile players have been very successful in many county leagues, championships and tournaments over the years. Some members have played at Munster level and are proving to be very talented players of the future. One of the Clubs proudest moments was when a team qualified to represent Munster in the National Finals of the Community Games in Mosney in 2001. The team won Silver Medals that year and went on the following year and took Bronze. In 2003, for the third year in succession a team from the club represented Munster in Mosney, taking the Silver title once again. The adult Club meet every Monday at Erins Own GAA Complex between 20.30 and 22.30, and Juveniles generally on Friday afternoon/ evening.
